New Delhi, Sept. 20 (ANI): Celebrations broke out at Nepal Embassy here on Sunday after the Himalayan nation adopted of a new ‘secular and democratic’ Constitution.
People greeted each other and cultural programmes were held in the Embassy premises to mark the historic occasion.
Nepal Ambassador to India, Deep Upadhyay, dubbed the occasion as ‘historic’, saying that people of the Himalayan nation were waiting for such a document for decades.
“It is a matter of great happiness and joy. Nepalese people have been waiting for this for decades. Now we have a full-fledged federal, democratic and republic Nepal. This is very historic,” he told ANI.
President of Nepal, Ram Baran Yadav, today announced the adoption of a new ‘secular and democratic’ Constitution.
The adoption of the new Constitution marks Nepal’s transformation from a Hindu monarchy to a secular democracy. (ANI)
