Ram Gopal Varma’s Veerappan has been passed with ‘A’ certificate by the censor board. One main scene that has been slashed off includes Sandeep Bhardwaj (who plays the title part) when he says that LTTE boss Prabhakaran had killed Rajiv Gandhi.
Bollywood Hungama addressed author executive Ram Gopal Varma who said that he attempted to reason out with the Censor Board authorities that the Supreme Court judgment in the Rajiv Gandhi death case had unmistakably named Prabhakaran as the key backstabber so if Veerappan says that in the film then it won’t be something new. “The Censor Board officials told me that some Tamil groups may create problems with Veerappan mentioning Prabhakaran as Rajiv Gandhi’s killer so we relented,” Mr Varma said.
RGV likewise affirmed one more scene that has been marginally changed including the slaughtering of a baby. “The scene looks surprisingly better with a minor changes,” he said. The Kannada film Killing Veerappan did exceptionally well at the Box Office and was broadly valued by the Critics. -CINEWS
