Centre for Gender, Diversity and Inclusion Statistics launched

An online data hub which will provide statistical information from a gender, diversity and inclusion perspective was launched last week by Mississauga-Malton MP and Innovation Minister Navdeep Bains.

This initiative is expected to provide information pertaining to education, health, immigration, family, labour and income to citizens, support city planners, business owners and policy-makers at all levels.

The online data hub is another layer of Canada’s Digital Charter – a government-wide approach to ensuring trust in new digital technologies, data and privacy safety, and protection of democratic institutions.

Statistics Canada has the tools and expertise to do just that with its new Centre for Gender, Diversity and Inclusion Statistics.

Information, such as number of women-owned enterprises and refugee resettlement, can be found on the portal to assist in developing appropriate community supports. -CINEWS
