New Delhi, Mar. 21 (ANI): Slamming the Central Government for the political instability and crisis in Uttarakhand, the Congress Party on Monday said that the BJP-led NDA Government was trying to destabilise border states.
“In the past 22 months, social harmony in this country has been shattered. Political stability has been undermined… Uttarakhand, a border state next to China, where a constitutionally elected government is being undermined,” Congress leader Manish Tewari said.
“The same thing happened earlier in Arunachal Pradesh again a border state with China. This government at the Centre is undermining political stability in this country by destabilising the border states,” he added.
The Congress has cracked the whip following the rebellion by its nine MLAs in Uttarakhand and expelled Vijay Bahuguna’s son Saket and state organisation secretary Anil Gupta for six years on charges of anti-party activities.
Rebel Congress MLA Harak Singh Rawat earlier wrote to Uttarakhand Governor K.K. Paul, urging him to call an Assembly Session tomorrow for the floor test.
Uttarakhand Chief Minister Harish Rawat has been asked by party vice-president Rahul Gandhi to stay put and handle the situation there. (ANI)
