Chaitanya Tamhane’s “Court” picked as India’s entrance to the Oscars!

Mumbai, September 24 (CINEWS): Chaitanya Tamhane’s Marathi introduction film ‘Court’, the tale of a radical writer who is blamed for taking up arms against the state, has been picked as India’s entrance to the prestigious Oscars 2016 in the best remote dialect classification. This comes as major news for the films threw  and a group which has been winning acclaim both at home and Abroad. “Court” was debuted at the Venice Film Festival in 2014, where it won the Future’s Lion Award for the best first element and also the top prize in the non-focused Horizons classification. It likewise won the National Award for Best Feature Film at the current year’s National Film Awards.
The film stars Vivek Gomber, Marathi stage veteran Geetanjali Kulkarni, and Vira Sathidar, and it has been shot by Mrinal Desai and altered by Rikhav Desai.
