New Delhi, July 19 (ANI): The Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) on Sunday said the Chandauli incident was the fallout of the Akhilesh Yadav-led Samajwadi Party Government’s failure to provide electricity, law and order and other basic amenities to the people.
“As far as the incident in Chandauli district is concerned, it happened because the Samajwadi Government in UP has failed to provide electricity, law and order and other basic amenities to the people of Uttar Pradesh,” BSP leader Sudhindra Bhadoria told ANI.
“Let their anger be directed towards the Samajwadi Government which is neither producing electricity nor fair distribution of electricity is taking place,” he added.
Distraught over frequent power cuts in their area, frustrated residents of Uttar Pradesh’s Chandauli village today roped Bahujan Samaj Party MLA Babban Singh Chauhan and a local councillor, and held them hostage for nearly two hours.
The incident happened in Alinagar when the MLA and the Councillor came to greet the people on the occasion of Eid.
The police reached the spot as soon as they got the information.
After getting assurance of proper electricity supply, the locals freed them. (ANI)
