After becoming a sort of prominent landmark on Rathburn road, Chapters will be moving into the old Target store location at Square One mall. For those who didn’t register Target’s short-lived stint at the mall, it was once home to the defunct Zeller’s.
According to reports, the Chapters in the mall will be larger and is expected to be a popular place to hang out and find something to buy, browse or read.
Chapters on Rathburn is slated to close in early 2019, likely in January and then it is only a matter of time before a date is announced for the opening of its new location.
Meanwhile The Rec Room which will occupy the other part of Target is also expected to open sometime in 2019.
According to reports the Rec Room will boast the Three10 restaurant—an upscale casual one named after Canada’s 10 provinces and three territories. The menu will feature wood-fired oven pizza and Canadian-inspired cuisine with a twist.
The establishment will also feature The Shed, a quick-service food stop that includes a poutinerie that offers such gourmet toppings as porchetta, smoked brisket, lobster and wild mushrooms. The there also be a custom doughnut bar called The Pumps.
Guests who want to drink can also check out a bar area that boasts a few big screens that will broadcast sporting events. As far as drinks go, Cineplex says there will be multiple bars throughout the space that will serve drought wines and over 20 draft beers (including a few local craft brews). What’s clear is that Square One mall is emerging as a destination one visits for recreation and fun and not solely for shopping. -CINEWS
