ChuChu TV Surprise – the second edutainment-themed YouTube channel from ChuChu TV of Chennai, India,– has reached one million subscribers in less than one year. Officially launched in September 2015, it was clear from the start that ChuChu TV Surprise would replicate the success of the original ChuChu TV channel, which built a strong following thanks to its colorful and creative renditions of well-known nursery rhymes and other kids’ songs.

“Our ChuChu TV Nursery Rhymes channel caters to the 1 to 4 age group,” says Founder and CEO Vinoth Chandar. “We started ChuChu TV Surprise to extend the upper limit to 6 years. To our surprise, all the kids aged 0 to 6 love the channel because it’s loads of fun. Plus, the channel teaches them new things with every new video. Our ChuChu TV Surprise channel has exceeded our expectations by reaching one million subscribers within 8 months after the launch of the first video.”

ChuChu TV Surprise features Mr. Harlo as its mascot. In each video, Mr. Harlo guides children on a fun and magical journey, teaching them things like parts of the body, animals, numbers, colors, vehicles and a lot more. Joining the channel’s endearing mascot is a colorful cast of surprise egg characters which attracts the kids. Several memorable faces from the original ChuChu TV also make appearances in all the videos.

The focus of ChuChu TV Surprise is on long-form educational and entertaining animated videos averaging at least seven minutes each. So far, the channel consists of 20 unique videos, yet boasts 500 million total views. Chandar and his team of animators and developers believe ChuChu TV Surprise is one of the fastest kids’ YouTube channels to hit the one million subscriber mark.

Originally, ChuChu TV was merely a side project for a Chennai, India web development firm. The channel’s unexpected and astonishing success, however, encouraged the team to re-allocate its time and energy. The ChuChu TV project is today a significant part of the firm’s business. Since uploading its first video in mid 2013, the channel has amassed more than 4.5 million subscribers and 5 billion total views across all videos. ChuChu TV has been widely recognized as one of the best and most popular channels in its category; ChuChu TV Surprise proudly carries on that tradition of quality, positivity, fun and entertainment for children around the globe.

The ChuChu TV Studios team has also recently released its branded mobile app “Nursery Rhymes by ChuChu TV” for iOS and Android platforms which allows users to watch ChuChu TV videos for free from YouTube, as well as giving an option to buy videos to watch offline. It has been a huge hit with close to 100,000 downloads in just over a month. Select ChuChu TV merchandise is available now from spreadshirt.com, and more such licensing deals are expected in the near future.

“We are elated to see that millions of little ones from around the world love us,” adds Chandar. “We thank all our cute little fans as well as their parents, and we promise to deliver lots of new content this year to all our YouTube channels.  We are also coming out with many new channels for kids, including 3D content.” – PRNewswire
