Civilian injured in clashes with security forces in J&K

Srinagar, June 23 (IANS) A civilian was injured on Saturday in clashes with security forces in Jammu and Kashmir’s Shopian district, police said.

Police sources said a stone-pelting mob attacked security forces in Daramdora village of Shopian when security personnel were laying a cordon and search operation following intelligence reports about the presence of militants there.

A civilian identified as Jahangir Ahmad was hit by a bullet during these clashes.

Doctors at the Pulwama district hospital said he had sustained an abdominal bullet injury and he has been referred to Srinagar for specialized treatment.

Till last reports came in, clashes in the Valley were going on.
