Clashes after Friday prayers in Srinagar

Srinagar, May 25 (IANS) Clashes between security forces and protesters left several persons injured on Friday in Srinagar’s old city areas after the day’s congressional prayers.

Youths took out a protest rally in Nowhatta. The security forces used tear smoke shells and pellets to break the protests, leaving several injured.

Senior separatist leader Mirwaiz Umer Farooq delivered the Friday sermon at the Jamia Masjid in Nowhatta.
