Coast Guard saves six fishermen stranded at sea

Kolkata, July 3 (ANI): The Indian Coast Guard on Friday saved six people who were stranded in a fishing boat in Andhra Pradesh’s Machlipatnam since the past 15 days.

The boat had been adrift from June 18.

The Coast Guard from Bhubaneswar during a routine sortie sighted the fishing boat on June 2. Coast Guard Headquarters (North East) Kolkata immediately launched an operation to rescue the fishermen.

The representatives from Andhra Pradesh fisheries department and fishing associations are arriving in Haldia to receive the fishermen and facilitate their movement to their native place. (ANI)
