New Delhi, Dec.17 (ANI): Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister M. Venkaiah Naidu on Thursday said that the Congress Party is adopting a policy of ‘spit and run’ by not allowing Parliament to function.
” Unfortunately from day one, our friends from the opposition particularly Congress is trying to invent or manufacture some issues to stall the Parliament. Government is ready to discuss and debate every issues but they don’t want any discussion. They are adopting the policy of spit and run. That’s the strategy of the Congress party. The entire country is eagerly watching how they are trying to divert the attention from the National Herald case, for which they have no answer, They don’t have respect for the judicial system,” Naidu told the media here.
“They want to use the forum of Parliament to put pressure on judiciary,” he added.
Union Minister of State for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Rajiv Pratap Rudy also said the Congress party is not allowing the Parliament to function inorder to give a bad name to the NDA government.
“Congress Party thinks that by not allowing Parliament to function they would bring a bad name to the BJP. Congress may have to answer at some point for stalling legislative functions in the Parliament,” Rudy told the media here.
With the Parliament being paralysed, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday launched a blistering attack on the Congress saying its only programme is to “destroy” the country because it cannot reconcile to defeat in the Lok Sabha polls.
The Winter Session of the Parliament have seen frequent disruption over several issues, even as legislations on Goods and Services Tax bill, Real Estate bill, SC/ST bill, among other important Bills are pending.
The Rajya Sabha or the upper house is the worst hit of the two houses, losing several days to disruptions over union minister VK Singh’s comment, National Herald case, corruption cases like the Madhya Pradesh Vyapam scam and the alleged atrocities on Dalits in Punjab.(ANI)
