Congress CMs unlikely to attend PM Modi’s meet on Land Acquisition Bill

New Delhi, July 11 (ANI): Chief Ministers of states ruled by the Congress party may not attend Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s scheduled meeting with all states chiefs to discuss the controversial Land Acquisition Bill.

The meeting is an attempt by the NDA Government’s to break the deadlock over the controversial bill.

The Lok Sabha had earlier decided to refer the Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement (Amendment) Second Bill, 2015 to the 30-member Joint Committee of Parliament. It had also announced the names of 20 members of the House for the purpose. (ANI)
