Ranchi, Jan 15 (IANS) The Jharkhand unit of the Congress on Friday condemned an attack on its member and former minister K.N. Tripathi, saying the state government was failing in maintaining law and order.

“The law and order situation is worsening in the state. The attack on former minister indicates that the law and order situation has gone beyond the control of the state government,” Congress Pradesh president Sukhdeo Bhagat told reporters here.

Some people attacked on Thursday night the vehicle of Congress leader K.N. Tripathi, who was a minister in the previous government, while he was travelling from state capital Ranchi to Medninagar.

Bhagat appealed to the police and the administration to review the security of the Congress leaders.
