Congress dubs Hema Malini’s anti-media tweet as ‘unfair’

New Delhi, July 8 (ANI): The Congress Party on Wednesday criticized Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP and actress Hema Malini for her outburst against the media following the July 2 accident in Dausa, Rajasthan.

Congress leader Shakeel Ahmed said it is extremely unfair on her part, taking into consideration the fact that the media has had a huge contribution in making her a successful person.

“What she is today, her professional career, her political career is because of the media. You can explain your viewpoint and your position in trying to clarify how the media has misquoted you or twisted the news story. But saying ‘shame on you’ on media, I don’t think it is fair. And, everyone should desist from it,” Ahmed told ANI here.

The 66-year-old actor-turned-politician, who returned to Mumbai after getting herself treated on July 6, lashed out at the media in her tweets.

“As for the sensation-hungry media & a few members of the public who had a field day maligning me even when I was helpless & in deep trauma, who actually & unbelievably stooped to the lowest levels of human decency, I can only say ‘Shame on u’ & ‘God Bless’,” she tweeted.

In a series of tweets, she also held the victim’s father responsible for the accident.

“How I wish the girl’s father had followed the traffic rules – then this accident could have been averted & the lil one’s life safe!” she tweeted.

The mishap occurred on July 2 when the actress’ Mercedes collided with an Alto car, killing one and leaving the remaining people severely injured.(ANI)
