New Delhi, Oct. 14 (ANI): Taking potshots at Prime Minister Narendra Modi over his remark that the Centre can’t be held responsible for the Dadri lynching case and cancellation of Pakistani Ghazal maestro Ghulam Ali’s concert in Mumbai, the Congress Party on Wednesday alleged that it has been the strategy of the BJP and RSS to gain political mileage from such untoward incidents.
“The reason why people wanted Prime Minister Modi to comment on incidents like Dadri and Ghulam Ali because it is the Bharatiya Janata Party, his party president and his organisation the RSS, who want to have these incidents to gain political mileage in the country,” Congress leader Sandeep Dikshit told ANI here.
“This has been a very clear strategy of his party for last 30-40 years,” he added.
Dikshit further said Prime Minister Modi feels it is merely a ‘sad incident’ and added this very means that these instances doesn’t make any difference to him.
“You and your party are directly involved in instances like this, for spreading hatred and violence,” he added.
Prime Minister Modi had in an interview to Ananda Bazar Patrika yesterday said that episodes of lynching of a 50-year-old man in Dadri and the controversy surrounding the concert of Ghulam Ali were ‘sad’.
Prime Minister Modi also asked as to how the Centre could be blamed for incidents such as these.
Accusing the opposition parties of playing the politics of polarisation, he said that the BJP never supported such incidents. (ANI)
