Courtney Love tweets about ‘French Taliban’

Washington DC, Jun 26 (ANI): Courtney Love has said that in Paris, French Uber protesters attacked the car that she was riding in.

As per the Hollywood Reporter, the 50-year-old musician took it to her Twitter page to say “they’ve ambushed our car and are holding our driver hostage. They’re beating the cars with metal bats. This is France?? I’m safer in Baghdad.”

As French taxi drivers protest ride-hailing app Uber with violent rallies across the country, the ‘Walk Out on Me’ singer tweeted “Dude @kanyewest we may turn back to the airport and hide out with u.picketers just attacked our car #ParisUberStrike,” attaching a snap of the furious protesters.

In a tweet directed at French president Francois Hollande, she wrote “where are the f-ing police??? is it legal for your people to attack visitors? Get your ass to the airport. WTF???”

In the end she said she paid locals with motorcycles to “sneak her out,” adding that she got chased by a mob of taxi drivers who threw rocks, passed two police and they did nothing.

Later, Love posted an Instagram video, noting “how on earth are these people allowed to do this? the first car was destroyed, all tires slashed and beat with bats, these guys trying to open the doors and the cops are doing nothing?? French Taliban? civil reform needed in France?? I want to go home.”

Taxi drivers are furious at what they see as unfair competition from Uber, which puts customers in touch with private drivers at prices lower than those of traditional taxis. (ANI)
