Cricket Australia suspends James Faulkner for drunken-driving

London, July 14 (ANI): All-rounder James Faulkner has been handed a four-match suspension by Cricket Australia (CA) after being charged with drunken driving earlier this month.

The 25-year-old, who was adjudged the Player of the Match in the World Cup, was detained and bailed on 2 July and will face court in Manchester, United Kingdom later this month.

Faulkner received four suspension points and, therefore, he would miss Australia’s upcoming tour of England and Ireland, the BBC reported.

While reprimanding Faulkner for his behavior, CA said that the all-rounder has accepted the punishment and would avoid a formal hearing. (ANI)
