New Delhi, Feb.9 (ANI): South Africa batsman David Miller has been appointed as the skipper of Kings XI Punjab for the upcoming ninth edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL).
Lavishing praise on Miller, Kings XI’s coach Sanjay Bangar said that he had seen the former grow as a player, insisting that he was confident that the 26-year-old had the right temperament to lead the side.
“I have watched David grow as a player. He has displayed outstanding batting abilities and a cool temperament in many high-pressure situations. I am confident in his potential to lead the boys this season,” Bangar was quoted as saying by ESPNcricinfo.
Besides Miller, retired India batsman Virender Sehwag has been appointed as the team mentor.
Meanwhile, Kings XI, which was captained by Australia’s George Bailey last year, have not retained their former skipper this season in their lineup.
