Dubai, Oct.23 (ANI): Skipper Alastair Cook and Joe Root scored half century each to help England post 182 for the loss of three wickets on the second day of the third Test against Pakistan here on Friday.
Cook smashed 65 runs, including ten boundaries, before getting dismissed by Yasir Shah.
At the draw of stumps, Root and Jonny Bairstow remained unbeaten at their respective scores of 76 and 27, and will resume their innings tomorrow.
Resuming from an overnight position of 282/4, Pakistan were earlier bundled out for 378 in their first innings, thanks to skipper Misbah-ul Haq (102) and Asad Shafik (83).
Shan Masood (54) and Younis Khan (56) were other notable figures for Pakistan.
For England, Moeen Ali and Mark Wood claimed three wickets each, while James Anderson, Stuart Broad, Ben Strokes and Adil Rashid shared four wickets among themselves.
The first Test ended in a draw in Abu Dhabi last week, and the third will be played in Sharjah from November 1. (ANI)
