Defamation suit: Kejriwal meets Jethmalani

New Delhi, Dec. 22 (ANI): Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal met veteran lawyer and former Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) law minister Ram Jethmalani on Monday evening in connection with the civil defamation suit filed by after Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley.

Well placed sources with the Delhi Government told ANI that Jethmalani would be appearing for Kejriwal.

The meeting was held at Jethmalani’s Delhi residence and lasted for about half an hour.

Meanwhile, AAP lawyer H.S. Phoolka said: “All defendants to appear tomorrow (Tuesday) through their lawyers and would urge the Court to expedite matter in defamation case filed by Jaitley.”

Earlier in the day, the Finance Minister filed a civil defamation suit of Rs 10 crores against Kejriwal and other AAP leaders in the Delhi High Court.

The Patiala House court on Monday set January 5 as the next date of hearing for the criminal defamation case filed by Jaitley against Kejriwal and other AAP leaders. (ANI)
