New Delhi, June 13 (IANS) Delhi Assembly on Monday adopted a resolution to give a status of “Martyr” to the NDMC official M.M. Khan who was killed last month after he refused to take bribe allegedly to hush up a matter of a hotelier. The proposal was moved by Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.

Speaking in the assembly Kejriwal sought a fair probe in the matter and said that police was not doing its work properly.

“It is unfortunate that Delhi police is not under the Delhi government. Had it been under our government, the murderers of M.M. Khan would have been caught and hanged,” Kejriwal said.

Blaming the investigation of not satisfactory, Kejriwal said, “name of a person close to home minister has surfaced, I don’t know what his role is but police should have at least questioned him,” making an obvious reference to New Delhi Municipal Corporation vice-chairman Kanwar Singh Tawar.
