Delhi govt. denies reports of increase in VAT

New Delhi, June 30 (ANI): Delhi Home Minister Satyendra Jain on Tuesday denied the reports of an increase in value added tax (VAT) in the national capital by the Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal-led Aam Aadmi Party (AAP).

“No tax has been hiked, you are under a misconception,” Jain said.

The Congress had earlier in the day criticised the AAP government over the proposed increase.

“What is shocking is that before coming to power, the AAP said that the VAT would be lowest in country and now they plan to increase it,” Congress leader Ajay Maken had said.
