New Delhi, July 15 (ANI): Petrol prices have been hiked by Rs. 2.78 per litre (approximately) while diesel has become dearer by Rs. 1.83 per litre (approximately) in the national capital after the Delhi government decided to increase VAT (Value Added Tax) with effect from Thursday.
Petrol prices have witnessed a jump from present 20 to 25 percent while diesel has gone up from 12.5 percent to 16.6 percent, prompting an attack from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Congress.
“Kejriwal talked about austerity, he is playing into the hands of Ambanis and Tatas,” said BJP leader RP Singh.
“Now we realise the implications of increase in advert budget of Delhi. This shows that they have no concern for the aam aadmi,” added Congress leader PC Chacko. (ANI)
