New Delhi, July 9 (IANS) The peak power demand of Delhi broke previous records to hit an all-time high of 6,998 MW on Monday, the State Load Dispatch Centre (SLDC) reported.
The peak power demand in Delhi reached a new record at 3.22 p.m. on Monday, which was “sudden and unexpected, though not entirely unpredicted or unprepared for”, the SLDC said.
Last time, the highest point of 6,934 MW was made on June 8. On June 1, the peak power demand of Delhi reached 6,651 MW.
Delhi Power Minister Satyendar Jain had said in March that the national capital was expected to witness its highest ever peak power demand of 7,000 MW this year.
