Dengue menace: BJP accuses Kejriwal of sleeping till situation worsened

New Delhi, Sept.18 (ANI): Responding to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s allegation that the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) was not spending the amount allotted to it for development of the city, the Bharatiya Janata Party on Friday said that the former has a habit of making allegations and accusations, and added that he sleeps all the time and when the water rises above the level, he writes to the Prime Minister.

“Arvind Kejriwal works according to a specific strategy. He has been repeating this issue of Lieutenant Governor and Centre for the last seven months. I guess the people of Delhi would understand him if talks something new instead of making allegations and accusing the Centre,” BJP leader Satish Upadhyay told ANI.

“He keeps sleeping all the time and when the water goes above the level, he comes out with something bizarre like writing to the Prime Minister. He never talks to anyone less than the level of Prime Minister,” he added.

Kejriwal on Friday alleged that the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) was not spending the amount allotted to it for development of the city.

“They (MCD) keep saying ‘paisa, paisa, paisa’. It doesn’t take money to spray dengue medicines,” said Kejriwal.

The Delhi Chief Minister had earlier written a letter to Prime Minister Modi, saying the Centre must cooperate with the AAP Government in tackling the dengue menace.

“We got a letter from the Governor on 17th September. The letter has asked the government officials not to follow the orders of the Aam Aadmi Party Government; else they wouldn’t receive their salaries. If the Central Government has to fight with us, we request you to do it after two months,” Kejriwal wrote.

“I request you not to spread such fears and let the team work as one. If you (PM Modi) can help us fight dengue in any way, please do. We would be grateful,” he added. (ANI)
