New Delhi, May 4 (IANS) The Indian Women’s Press Corps and the Press Club of India on Wednesday urged the government to carry out a “fair and unbiased” probe into the events that led to the death of a young journalist, Pooja Tiwari.
According to reports, she died because she fell from a building. “We seek a detailed investigation into the real causes behind her death,” a statement said.
“We are also deeply concerned over efforts to defame the journalist’s professional reputation without examining all the facts of the case. We urge that justice be done in the case of Ms. Tiwari. An impartial and time-bound enquiry should be ordered immediately,” it said.
