Devotees throng Puri ahead of annual ‘Rath Yatra’

Puri (Odisha), July 17 (ANI): Devotees have thronged the temple town of Puri in Odisha as preparations are in full swing for the annual ‘Rath Yatra’ which will commence tomorrow.

Huge, colourfully decorated chariots are drawn by hundreds of devotees through what is called the ‘Bada Danda’ or the grand avenue to the Gundicha Temple, located two miles to the North of the Srimandira Temple in Puri.

They return to the latter after a week.

Domestic devotees and tourists from abroad take an active part in the procession. (ANI)
