Dhawan returns as India opt to bowl against Lanka in Asia Cup

Mirpur, March.1 (ANI): India have won the toss and opted to bowl first against Sri Lanka in the seventh Asia Cup contest here at Shere Bangla National Stadium on Tuesday.

Opener Shikhar Dhawan, who missed the previous match against Pakistan due to a niggle, has recovered and will open alongside Rohit Sharma, who has also been declared fit after sustaining a bruised toe.

With Shikhar’s inclusion, Ajinkya Rahane makes an exit from the squad.

Meanwhile, Sri Lanka have made only one change in the squad Thisara Perera has replaced Lasith Malinga, who remains unavailable due to a knee condition.

Earlier,the MS Dhoni-led Indian team had defeated hosts Bangladesh by 45 runs in the tournament opener and followed it up with a thumping five-wicket win over Pakistan on Saturday.

However, Sri Lanka will come into today’s match after a humiliating 23-run defeat at the hands of Bangladesh on Sunday.
