Amritsar, Sept. 9 (ANI): Congress leader Captain Amarinder Singh on Wednesday said that India must continue talks with Pakistan as it is the only way to resolve the Kashmir issue.
“If you want a settlement you have to sit around the table and talk about every issue and find some solution for the Kashmir issue. I don’t agree with the cancellation business, if this continues then the talks between India and Pakistan will never happen. So, the dialogues must continue,” Singh told ANI.
“Whenever an atmosphere for talks is created, they (Pakistan) disrupt it. This hard headed attitude of cancelling the talks is not correct,” he added.
He further criticised Pakistan for keeping the same stand for past sixty years.
The Director General level bi-annual meeting between India and Pakistan border guarding forces will take place in New Delhi today.
A 15-member delegation headed by Pakistan Rangers Director General (Punjab) Major General Umar Farooq Burki will travel to Attari-Wagah border today and then fly from Amritsar to New Delhi to participate in the four-day talks with the Border Security Force.
The Indian delegation will be led by BSF DG Devendra Kumar Pathak. (ANI)
