Kolkata, Dec. 11 (ANI): The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Friday appointed Dilip Ghosh as the next President of their West Bengal unit.
Ghosh, who has been a RSS pracharak, will be replacing Rahul Sinha who has been made party’s National Secretary.
According to reports, Sinha was expected to remain state unit president till next year’s Assembly polls but it is said that BJP’s dismal performance in Bengal civic polls forced the party to take this step.
BJP President Amit Shah had held a meeting with both Ghosh and Sinha on Tuesday after which the decision was taken.
Recently, a section of the BJP West Bengal workers had also voiced their dissatisfaction with Sinha’s functioning. (ANI)
