Actress Swara Bhaskar, who has worked in many movies says she was once told by directors that she isn’t “actress material”. She was not discourage by the reaction and she has acted in films and was appreciated for her performance in Nil Battey Sannata.
Answering a question whether the actors often feel the pressure of looking good she says “I think all actresses feel the pressure of looking good. Not only actresses… I feel all women in general feel this pressure. As compared to men, women are more judged on the basis of their looks.”
She took part in the Lakme Fashion Week (LFW) Winter-Festive 2016 recenlty.
“I remember the first year when I came to Mumbai. There were directors who actually said to me that, ‘You are not actress material. You are not heroine material.’ I remember other people, who said, ‘You are too intelligent looking’.
“Tanu Weds Manu” actress will next be seen starring in the upcoming web-series “It’s Not That Simple”. The six episode series, which has been shot extensively in Mumbai, revolves around the idea of marriage, relationships, a woman’s stand in a marriage, love among others. – CINEWS
