Bollywood actor Varun Dhawan says his upcoming movie Dishoom does not show any country or cricketer in bad light.
“The movie is based on match fixing and corruption but it in no way shows any cricketer or country in bad light,” said Dhawan.
Cricket has had a number of controversies relating to players being involved with the betting aspects of the game. In particular, numerous players have been approached by bookmakers and bribed to throw matches, aspects of matches (e.g. the toss) or provide other information.
The 29-year-old actor, who plays the character of Junaid Ansari in the movie, was in Jaipur, Rajasthan to promote the film along with co-star Jacqueline Fernandez.
The movie also stars John Abraham.
Expressing concern on the menace of piracy, the Badlapur star appealed his fans to not watch the leaked version.
“Leaking of movies online before official release is a very sad thing for us as its not only linked with profit or loss but it also demoralises the artists, who put their efforts for months and years in making a movie,” he said. – CINEWS
