Actress-filmmaker Divya Khosla Kumar, who has made like ‘Yaariyan’ and ‘Sanam Re’, says is lucky she has been able to pursue her passion for film direction as a profession.
Divya is a producer and director who started her career in Bollywood as an actor with the 2004 film Ab Tumhare Hawale Watan Saathiyo.
After following a course in cinematography and editing, she directed music videos for Agam Nigam, Jermaine Jackson, Tulsi Kumar, and a few ad films. After directing 20 music videos Divya directed her first venture Yaariyan in 2014.
Asked what’s more tough — directing films or being a mother, Divya said: “I don’t consider any of them as jobs per say. Directing films is my passion and hobby and I’m blessed to have that as my profession and to be loved by the audience for it”.
“And to be a mother, if you call that a job then that’s probably the best job ever one can have!”
But being a director is more taxing, says Divya, who is married to T-Series head Bhushan Kumar.
“Being a director and the captain of the ship is definitely more taxing,” she said. – CINEWS
