Diwali festivities kick off at Brampton’s Real Canadian Superstore

Brampton, October 30 (CINEWS): For the first time ever, the Real Canadian Superstore at Hurontario Street and Steeles Ave West, Brampton will have a fantastic Diwali firework sale that begins on November 4 and lasts until November 11. It is available exclusively at this location. South Asian shoppers entering the store are greeted with a sign wishing them a Happy Diwali. The Brar Sweets counter is laden with mouth-watering mithai, diwali_superstoresamosas and pakoras. There are dozens of items on sale and plenty of reasons to stock up on staples like the 3.63 kg bag of Quality Basmati rice that is on sale for $6.68.
Celebrating diversity is something store manager Peter Lloyd wholeheartedly supports and with good reason. Last April for the first time ever he decided to go all out and celebrate Vaisakhi in style. “That was such a hit,” says Lloyd. “My sales went through the roof, there were so many customers in the store and because we had such an overwhelming response, we decided to celebrate Diwali,” he added.
Peter Lloyd has come to realize one thing–customer loyalty goes beyond just deals to be found at a particular grocery store. It is the customer experience, the celebration and understanding of diversity. “ Our store caters to such a diverse population and it is important to recognize it and celebrate these important festivals in our store,” he said.
Starting at around 1 pm on November 7, South Asian customers are urged to come in not just to shop for amazing deals on just about every item connected to Diwali celebrations, but to celebrate it at Real Canadian Superstore. According to Gurjeet Dhillon, the assistant store manager, there will be a henna artiste who will do henna for anyone who wants a design. Customers can enjoy some mithai, watch a bhangra dance performance and even shake a leg themselves. “There will be some good surprises for our shoppers when they visit the store. They will really feel welcome and glad they came,” she adds.
When you shop at this Real Canadian Superstore location during Diwali you aren’t just there for grocery items, you get an experience. Even those unfamiliar with Diwali can feel that there exists an air of festivity.
