Diwali Razmatazz at Mississauga Celebration Square is a big success

Mississauga, October 16 (CINEWS):  MPP Dipika Damerla (Mississauga East-Cooksville) inaugurated the First Diwali Razmatazz Festival at Mississauga’s Celebration Square on Oct. 10, 2015. The two day event, organized by the Indo-Canada Arts Council, included traditional cultural performances like Kathakali and Bharatnatyam. The main highlight of the event was a performance by Bollywood singer and song writer Mika Singh. Hundreds of South Asian fans as well as others came out to see what the fuss was all about.
MPP Damerla brought Premier Kathleen Wynne’s greetings to the event and said that she is proud that it is being held in her riding. She also appreciated the efforts of the organizers, led by Ajaay Modi to make the festival as inclusive as possible. She pointed out that volunteers for the festival came from all faiths.
The event was emceed by media personality Jake Dheer. Among the VIPs who made the scene were Indian Consul General Akhilesh Mishra, Councillor John Kovac and Prof. Azad Kaushik, President of the Overseas Friends of BJP.
The success of this phenomenal event has prompted many to think that this will in the years to come become one of the most sought after events in Mississauga.
