Documentary on Sunny Leone to be aired at TIFF

‘Mostly Sunny’ is a fascinating documentary about Canadian-born, American-bred Sunny Leone and is directed by Dilip Mehta.

Sunny Leone made the unlikely transition from mega porn star and “Penthouse Pet of the Year” to Queen of Bollywood. The film follows Sunny (née Karenjit Kaur Vohra) to Sarnia, Ontario (where she grew up in a conservative Sikh family), to LA (where she lives with her husband/former porn star/business partner Daniel Weber) and to India (where she initially struggles to move into mainstream after starring in 54
adult films).

But today, kick-started with hit films like Jism 2 and music videos like “Pink Lips,” she is India’s most Googled celebrity. With interviews (including her brother) and archival footage (Howard Stern), the film is directed by Toronto’s Dilip Mehta (Cooking with Stella), whose visual eye comes from his background as a photojournalist. The script is written by Mehta, Deepa Mehta and Craig Thompson.
