Bhopal, Jan 8 (IANS) Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Friday announced that each district in the state would have its own irrigation planning and it would set an example in providing water to every field.
He was speaking at the inauguration of a two-day workshop launched as per Prime Minister Krishi Sinchayee Yojana.
“Encouragement would be given to small irrigation planning for every village. To continue the old water system, the Jalabhishek Abhiyan, would be continued. It will raise the water-level and ensure water for irrigation. Every village will have at least one Jal Saranchana or resource for irrigation and drinking water,” he said.
Issuing directions for preparing an irrigation planning, he said, the Madhya Pradesh government would also spend money apart from the revenue provided by the central government.
