New Delhi, Oct.1 (ANI): The Election Commission (EC) on Thursday sent a notice to Rashtriya Janata Party (RJD) chief Lalu Prasad Yadav for violating the Model Code of Conduct in place in Bihar and sought his explanation by Tuesday
The EC’s move came in the wake of alleged castiest remarks made by Lalu during his election campaign address at Raghopur in Bihar. An FIR in this connection was earlier registered against Lalu.
During his address at the rally, the RJD chief had reportedly said that state assembly election is war between the backward and forward castes.
The officials at the state Election Commission stated that Prasad’s speech was examined by the poll body after it received a complaint against him.
Meanwhile, an FIR has also been registered against senior BJP leader Sushil Modi for violating the Poll Code. The case was registered in Bhabua Nagar Police Station in Kaimur District.
