England need five more wickets to win first Ashes Test

London, July 11 (ANI): England bowlers produced a spellbinding performance on Saturday as Australia are struggling to save the match on the day four of the first Ashes Test in Cardiff.

Chasing an imposing target of 413, Australia lost opener Chris Rodgers cheaply for 10 runs, but David Warner and Steve Smith provided a stiff resistance as the duo shared 78-run stand for the second wicket before the dismissal of the former at lunch.

England bowlers seemed to have revitalized with the removal of Warner as they wreaked havoc on the middle-order batsmen by removing Steve Smith, Michael Clarke and Adam Vogue in the gap of five runs after the interval.

Fast bowler Stuart Broad claimed three wickets, while Moeen Ali and Mark Wood took one wicket each.

At the time of filing the report, Australia were 115-5 with Shane Watson and Brad Haddin on the crease at their respective scores of five and four. (ANI)
