A Mississauga-based faith healer is facing several charges in connection with allegations he sexually assaulted two people while practicing as a self-declared faith healer over the last eight years.

Peel Police say a 37-year-old man who described himself as a Sufi religious healer committed sexual offences against a 15-year-old girl and a 20-year-old woman during that time.

They say the suspect has operated as a religious healer in Brampton and Mississauga, as well as the Guelph Line and QEW area in Burlington.

The Mississauga man was arrested by the force’s Special Victims Unit on June 17 and is charged with:
• Two counts each of sexual assault
• Extortion and non-consensual distribution of intimate images
• One count of sexual exploitation.

Investigators are concerned that there may be additional victims, and are asking anyone with information to contact police. – CINEWS
