Belgaum, Feb. 27 (ANI): Hundreds of farmers on Saturday staged a protest near the venue, where Prime Minister Narendra Modi was to address a rally, against the crop insurance scheme ‘Fasal Beema Yojna’.

The security personnel stopped the agitating farmers, who were seen raising the slogans of ‘we want justice’, from getting close to the rally venue. Some of the farmers were even taken away by the police in buses.

One of the protesting farmers told ANI that the Fasal beema yojna was aimed at helping the corporates and that it would be of no use to the farmers.

“We are against the insurance scheme. It is against the farmers. It is to benefit only the corporate,” said one of the protestors.
