New Delhi, July 24 (ANI): The Indian Railways on Friday assured appropriate action into the death of national level fencing player Hoshiyar Singh, who was allegedly pushed off a train by Government Railway Police (GRP) personnel.
“He was coming from Kasganj to Mathura and he entered ladies coach. We have ordered investigation into the matter, once the report comes we will take appropriate action…We have asked senior officials to probe the matter,” said Minister of State for Railways Manoj Sinha.
An altercation between Singh and GRP personnel broke out when the former entered the ladies’ coach of the train to meet his ailing wife.
His father has alleged that the railway police told Singh to get off the ladies’ compartment or pay some money. (ANI)
