Karachi, July 7 (ANI): Pakistan’s Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan has said thousands of names will be removed from the government’s exit control list (ECL) if concerned departments don’t provide justification for keeping them on it.
He also said that previous governments have used the ECL as a tool to punish or favour people.
The Dawn reports that Khan’s statement was made during a meeting to review the new ECL framework on Monday.
He said many of the names have been on the list for decades.
He revealed that the procedure for inclusion of names in the ECL would be simplified and justice would be ensured. (ANI)
