New Delhi, Feb 5 (IANS) BCCI secretary Anurag Thakur on Friday confirmed that a final decision will be taken on February 8 whether Ferozeshah Kotla can host four matches of World T20.

Delhi is scheduled to host four matches, including a semi-final, of the biennial tournament starting from March 8 in India. But uncertainties still haunt Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) as it is yet to obtain no-objection certificates from the local civic authorities.

The situation resulted in the February 12 match of the India-Sri Lanka bilateral T20I series being shifted out of Kotla to Ranchi.

“We will take a final call on whether Kotla will host matches of the World Twenty20 on February 8,” Thakur said at a press conference here.

Even though he did not announce the back-up plans for Kotla, Bengaluru and Nagpur have reportedly emerged as the venues where the Board of Control for Cricket in India may shift Kotla’s the matches.
