Problem-plagued Padmavati’s director has something to smile about, finally.
Viacom18 Motion Pictures has come forward to finance the movie after the original producer walked off. This new collaboration will ensure Sanjay Leela Bhansali that the film will now start soon and is set for a 2017 release.
Eros International which earlier collaborated with Sanjay Leela Bhansali on films including Goliyon Ki Rasleela Ram-Leela, and Bajirao Mastani pulled out of the project without giving a specific reason for its action.
An easier report suggested that the dancing sequence of film was being shot in a Mumbai studio hundreds of dancers flown in from Rajasthan.
There were also speculations that the filmmaker was not getting producers to back his big-budget project which has been bogged down in nagging problems among the cast members, particularly between Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor.
Padmavati is Viacom18 Motion Pictures’ third collaboration with the director’s Bhansali Productions after the successes of Mary Kom & Gabbar is Back.
After Ram Leela and Bajirao Mastani, Sanjay Leela Bhansali who returns to direct Padmavati said,” I’m very happy to work with Viacom18 Motion Pictures & Ajit Andhare. We’ve had a successful partnership so far and I look forward to collaborating with them on Padmavati. – CINEWS
