As part of the ongoing conversation about the Brampton 2040 Vision, the City of Brampton is inviting Brampton high school students to be part of its first Vision Youth Symposium. The event is taking place at Brampton City Hall on Saturday, December 1 from 10am to 5pm, followed by a social event from 5pm to 8pm.
The event will give Brampton’s youth an opportunity to share their ideas on how to bring the Vision to life. Participants will choose an area of interest – environment, transportation, jobs, recreation, health, social issues, or arts and culture – and work together to start developing an action plan for the future.
The day will include free breakfast and lunch, workshop sessions, performances, presentations and more. To register, please visitbramptonyouthsymposium.eventbrite.com. It is preferable that participants bring their own laptop, but the City will loan out laptops for the day to ensure the broadest range of participation.
The Brampton 2040 Vision, unanimously endorsed by City Council in May 2018, is an aspirational look at what Brampton will become over the next quarter century. It focuses on seven key vision themes and 28 specific actions to make them happen. To learn more about the 2040 Vision, visit brampton.ca/2040vision. -CINEWS
