Five killed in Himachal accident

Shimla, Dec 16 (IANS) Five people were killed in Himachal Pradesh’s Kullu district on Wednesday when a multi-utility vehicle rolled down a hill and fell into a gorge, police said.

The vehicle fell into a 400 feet deep gorge at Jakhu rivulet near Kullu town, killing three on the spot and injuring four others.

Superintendent of Police Padam Chand told IANS that the cause of the accident is yet to be ascertained.

He said the injured were admitted to a hospital in Kullu, some 200 km from the state capital, where two succumbed to their injuries.

An eyewitness told the police that the vehicle caught fire as it hit the ground.
