New Delhi, May 28 (IANS) On World Hunger Day, Foodpanda on Monday announced a partnership with The Akshaya Patra Foundation to tackle hunger among children from the less privileged sections through the midday meal scheme across the country.

The target is to provide one million meals through this endeavour in the next six months.

Foodpanda customers who make use of the online marketplace for food delivery will donate raw material like pulses and spices to the foundation and thus contribute to the mission of eliminating hunger.

The raw material will go directly to the Akshaya Patra funds to be used to provide midday meals to over 14,000 partner schools in India.

The foundation implements the midday meal scheme in government and government-aided schools in the country.
