Ahmedabad, Jan. 31 (ANI): With the government formation in Jammu and Kashmir hanging fire since the demise of Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, National Conference patron Farooq Abdullah on Sunday said Mufti ji formed a government with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), because they had an agenda, and to take that ahead it’s important that a government is formed.
Abdullah had earlier said his party would consider a tie-up with the BJP to form the government if it received any such proposal, which was, however, summarily rejected by his son and former chief minister Omar Abdullah.
Meanwhile, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) core group, which includes senior party leaders and MLAs, will meet in Srinagar on Sunday to discuss formation of a new government.
Overall political situation in the state and issues related to its alliance with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is also likely to come up for discussion at the meeting convened by PDP president Mehbooba Mufti. (ANI)
